Our Charity Partner and Causes
Where the money goes?
Well, we don’t make that much money. The KnobFest emphasis is on a great fun day out for families and individuals of all ages.
We also want it to be fun for our wonderful volunteers. And, of course, we want it to be both memorable and successful for the many food and craft stallholders – all of which are Dorset based.
We don’t forget the musicians and entertainers who build the atmosphere and make this one of the most enjoyable outdoor events in Dorset.
But we do hope to make a surplus which is divided between our charity partner for the year and local causes and organisations.
Our charity partner in 2019 was Weldmar Hospicecare. We will decide on the 2021 partner by the Autumn of 2020. We are looking for a respected Dorset based charity with broad appeal that really does need support. We also hope that our charity partner can provide person power to help on the day and will help through its own social media to promote the event.
The balance is split between the Cattistock Community Fund, a grant making and legacy generation fund, and local sports clubs and organisations. We are as fair as we can be in distribution and allow our volunteers to decide where they want the fruits of their labour to go. So we assess the share that goes to volunteers, we divide by the number of volunteers and distribute accordingly
